Blessed Edmund Rice Chapel serves as the cornerstone and spiritual centre for the boys, staff, alumni and Christian Brothers of Vancouver College. The chapel is integrated into the new Lannon Hall elementary school that fronts onto a symbolic cloister courtyard. Clad in brilliant white masonry, the chapel is marked with a striking incised steel cruciform. The main entrance preserves the original 1927 entry archway for McCormack Hall. The interior is lined with wood and raked plaster washed with hues of turquoise, violet and golden light. The crucifix was crafted from reclaimed wood from old Lannon Hall, and the window artwork was inspired by a 1986 icon of Blessed Edmund Rice.

The opportunity I had to celebrate our first mass in our new chapel brought me to tears—it has such a spiritual feel to it.
